Collaborative project with artist Julie Davenport on the theme of seeds, partly based on microscopy photographs of seeds that we took together. We each made a single layer image, swapped, and added a new layer to each other’s images. We used a Riso printer with a separate colour for each of our layers. Riso is very similar to screenprinting, so it adds a lovely texture to the prints, and it can also print in very juicy bright fluorescent inks. The print of the Svalbard seedbank was not part of the collaboration, and is my work alone, used to test different textures, materials and ink overlays.

Some prints were used to make seed envelopes, and these (together with A4 original prints) will be sold at Print Pals in Oct 2025 in aid of pancreatic cancer research - get in touch if you’d like to buy any directly before then.

Sow the first seed.
